One of these will have a direct impact on your life if you are living in one of those systems. This is that star gates now will check how many players are in the system you are trying to jump to, and prevent you from jumping if there is too many. We haven’t found any information about any queuesystem to prevent others from taking your place when someone jump out. Also, there is no information about how many players the systems accept.

The second feature is that more agents are being relocated out of Jita. You probably know that Jita is the biggest hub of Eve Online, and to prevent people from staying in Jita to do missions, these agents are now moving out.

The first major patch for the Eve Online expansion Empyrean Age was launched today. We will look on some of the features you should be aware of.

CONCORD Upgrade
The CONCORD changes we have review earlier is now live, and life for high-security PvPers will be harder. Response times for attacking other players in high security without a reason like war, is lowered. And no, phat loot is not listed as a good reason to attack someone. Neither is faction ships.

Standing changes
The general rule is that the higher the security status of the system you shoot at someone, destroy a ship or pod kill someone, the higher security hit you will get. It is also said that the standing loss is related to both the standing of the victim and the aggressor. This means killing peaceful players will give you a bigger standing loss than a part-time pirate. Exact figures are not given.

Misc changes

Another 170 new missions is added, including Agent Level 1, factions and other ranges.

Factional Warfare missions have had their toughness lowered, so if you’ve had problems with these, it might be worth another try

The high-sec space of Eve Online was allways ment to be secure for the players, but lately we have seen more and more suicide ganking, especially in the lower security of high security, in 0.5 and 0.6. CCP are now working with new tweaks to improve the experience for the players and make it harder for the suicide gankers.

One of the biggest problems is that CONCORD has been too slow to actually save people in high sec, but this will now improve. CONCORD will arrive quicker if you are attacked, with a basic fleet of two frigates and one battleship. The frigs will lock the aggressor down quickly, while the battleships starts up it’s guns and you can wave goodbye.

The other improvement CCP is planning is the security hit gankers get. So far the security penalty for podding a fellow player has been flat across all space except 0.0, but this will change to encourage fighting PvP in low security space where it belongs. If you pod someone in 1.0 it will take give you a lot larger hit on your security rating than if you do it in 0.1. So far it is not known when these changes will be implemented and go live.

You might wonder what the title really means, just as I did when I first saw it. Apparently, it is the title of this years PvP Tournament during Eve Online Fanfest. Take it easy, it is not about achieveing mining god status, but a new approach to the PvP Tournament.

A team will be composed of five players, one in a cruiser and four in frigates (T1). Everyone will have characters with maxed out skills. The winner is team with most ore, where Arkonor is worth 500 points, Gneiss is worth 100 points and Veldspar is 1 point. For a basic sketch of the battleground, check out the post here.

Expect to see some big changes to the speed-modules and such in a future patch. A few days ago a rather big explanation of some of the changes was posted on the developer blog. We will give you some of the highlights, but you can read the full post here.

The first thing is a more balanced MWD (Microwarpdrive) speed cross the different types of ships. Today it is possible to boost a ship with so much speedbonus that it outruns smaller ships. CCP wants to balance this out to make it impossible (hey, nothing is impossible in Eve ) to “misuse” a generic ship, like a cruiser, to make it better than specialized ships.

MWD has been the way to go for PvP since I can remember, and CCP wants to make the AB (afterburner) a viable alternative to MWD in PvP. As you see from the name, MWD uses warp technology to increase the speed, and it seems like warp scrambling now will make the MWD deactivate. So far it seems like only the “Warp Scrambler” (7.5+ km range) will have this effect and not the “Warp Disruptor” (20ish km). I think this is important for not making the MWD totally useless.

A third change to MWDs is that the tech 1 named Microwarpdrives will give the same speedboost as the tech 1 generic MWD, and the difference will be only the capacitor usage.

The changes are not finalized, so it will be interesting to read the patch notes when this goes live. Stay tuned for more information about this.

Massively have a very good article about the problems we face as miners of Eve Online. Over the last few years, mining has gotten less and less popular, both because of the boring process and other professions making much more money. While mining was the primary way of making money a few years ago, today mining is something one does while watching TV or listening to the latest podcast of Warp Drive Active. Noone joins Eve Online today with the goal of becoming a high-end miner.

One of the problems is that many other professions gives more money and a lot of resources directly, like reprocessing loot from doing missions, doing complexes or just reprocessing items from the market. The prices of minerals is completely upside down, with veldspar being the most profitable ore in high-end, and jaspet being the least profitable ore. The days where the size of ore chucks could tell you what ore is the most profitable are gone a long time ago.

While PvP-pilots and mission runners can look forward to large improvements in allmost all patches, miners are left with a new implant or module every other year. Skills for miners haven’t changed in a long while. A miner with a year worth of skill points are earning less than an mission runner with a battleship and half a year of training. Mining should be the backbone of the economy in Eve Online, but has been forgotten. I hope CCP realises this soon, and maybe CSM could start discussing things that could improve the experience for Eve Online Miners.

Today the meeting minutes from the first meeting between CCP and Council of Stellar Management was published on the forums. This first meeting took place from from June 20 - 23 on Iceland.

There are a lot of issues discussed, and some of the most interesting topics are the new alliance and factional warfare, black ops improvements and boosting bombs.

CCP says that factional warfare is not and end-game feature, but more of an introduction to PvP without having to venture out to 0.0-space. Alliances are currently not allowed to join factions in this was, and that is primarly to prevent alliances to dominate the high-security PvP.
